A Branding and Package Design firm required Interior Design and Planning Services for their expansion and relocation to a new office.

Lease Agreements, a small budget, and compressed schedule precluded time for the standard Design process and eliminated the possibility for any extensive construction work.

Project Team: Richard Lucas; Lydia Kiehborth
While the new office was move-in ready, it wasn't altogether suitable for a design-oriented agency. Together with the Creative Director, Daedalus Workshop proposed a simple design concept that would minimize demolition and construction work and transform the space into a 'raw', more open and creative environment for the firm.
Once the overall layout and strategy was approved, the existing furniture, carpet and ceiling grid, along with the unused conduit and wiring above it, were removed. The ceiling slab was cleaned, some ductwork repositioned, new conduit installed and the entire surface re-painted.
A new ceiling grid was installed and only a few random tiles placed within it, leaving the painted slab above exposed through the open grid. Existing lighting was relocated according to the new seating layout, with a new suspended track-light system and recessed fixtures added in selected areas for accent and ambient illumination.

In addition to collaborating with the Creative Director on the initial Design Concept, layout and overall strategy, Daedalus Workshop assisted in managing the demolition, build-out and electrical work, while also providing guidance in choosing finishes, light fixtures, color schemes and furnishings.
